Workshops on offer

As well as the masks we offer we deliver a range of workshops. All our workshops are run by Andy Godfrey who has given workshops in both the UK and abroad.  To participants ranging from primary to degree level.

Physical Theatre and Devising

 

Bellow is a basic outline of what we offer for more information please contact us. Each of these workshops can be two hours £140, four hours £260 or a full day £300. All workshop fees are plus travel.

 

Basic Physical Theatre

An introduction in to physical theatre for students/performers who have had little or no experience of it, All work is based around introducing skills and developing confidence.

Suited to GCSE, AS/A LEVEL, BTEC, DEGREE.

 

Advanced Physical Theatre

This workshop deals with more complex techniques, helping students/performers push their physical theatre skills and knowledge.

Suited to AS/A LEVEL, BTEC,DEGREE.

 

The Devising Process

Different methods of approaching material for performance, from simple approaches working as an ensemble, to creating and shaping material for performance.

Suited to GCSE, AS/A LEVEL, BTEC, DEGREE.

 

Masks and Mask Making

Making a mask can be a rewarding experiance but also a time consuming one so all our mask making workshops need to be at least a full day or two four hour sessions over a couple of days.

 

Neutral Masks

The origional tool for actor training, the Neutral mask is the perfect starting point for developing character.

AS/A LEVEL, BTEC,DEGREE

Half/ Character Masks

The use of half masks allows the creation of more complex characters that can be used in performance.  Suitable for 8+

 

Mask Making

Great for a group working on a production or people interested in learning how to create masks. Materials and complexity will depend on groups ability and size. Suitable for 8+

 

 

Puppetry and Puppet Making

 

An introduction to Bunraku Pupperty

This workshop introduces the skills of Bunraku starting with paper puppets and then moving on to fabric articulated puppets. 8+

Basil/ Full Face Masks

The mask work focuses on the use of Basel masks to create characters, which are larger than life. They force the performers to develop their range of physicality. Suitable for 8+

 

Commedia Masks

An introduction to the classic characters of the Commedia the use of Lazzi and exploring how the characters work in performance.

Puppet Making

The skills of constructing a Bunraku puppet from simple paper puppets to more advanced techniques. Suitable for 8+
